Short answer: if you want to turn your website into an app and keep the website as the thing that does the work, you want a wrapper service, and Glassly is not one. If you want an app that does what your website cannot, take bookings, stamp a loyalty card, run a members area, send a push when an order moves, then you want an app builder, and that is what this is. The two get searched for with the same words, so here is how to tell which one you are.
What a wrapper does
Website-to-app services differ. Some display a site in a native shell; others build native screens connected to its content or catalogue. Check the service's supported integrations, synchronisation and checkout. Apple's minimum-functionality guideline asks for more than a repackaged website. Neither a wrapper nor native code guarantees approval.
What a builder does
Glassly does not take a URL. It takes a name and a template, or a plain-English description, and produces a native iOS and Android app with its own backend: accounts, a database and file storage. Notification features depend on the app and their setup. The app is a separate thing from your website, which is the whole point. It is for the part of your business the website was never good at.
If you run a Shopify store
To sell the same catalogue in an app, use a Shopify app builder; it syncs your products and uses Shopify’s checkout. Come here instead for the app next to the store: a loyalty card your regulars stamp in person, a members club for your best customers, or a shop app you stock yourself for a market stall or a merch line. The shop template takes cards once you connect your own payment processor, and offers pay on delivery until then. It does not sync with Shopify.
If you run a WordPress site
If people come to your site to read, a WordPress app plugin that mirrors your posts is the right tool, and none of our templates is a website reader. If people come to your site to do something, book, join, order, talk to each other, the templates are that something with the website removed: appointments for a booking page, the community hub for a members forum, the courses app for a course site, the podcast player for your own show.
The test
Finish this sentence: “I want an app so that my customers can…” Then check whether you need to reuse the website's data or create a separate workflow.
